Preparing for your curly cut
Trust in the process, and please read carefully...
This may not be something you think about when making an appointment at a hair salon, but I have found that taking a little extra time to properly prepare your curly hair can lead to better results.
Come with an open mind, ready to love and accept your hair in it's natural glory!
Deva and curly cut at-home required preparation:
Cleanse, condition and style your hair (with products) on the day of your appointment.
1) Detox and exfoliate: at least 1 week before your appointment, detox and clarify your hair if you use any products with silicone, butters or oils in them
2) Condition: the conditioners I recommend are Deva Curl One Conditioner or any of the InnerSense conditioners. But like the shampoo, any conditioner that doesn't contain oils, butters or silicones will work.
3) Style: (VERY IMPORTANT) your curls should be defined as possible using water-based products. Please do not use bobby pins, head wraps, ponytails, headbands, hats, clips, etc on the day of your appointment. I need to see your natural curl pattern and how your hair falls in order to perform the cut properly and give you the best service.
Failure to follow these guidelines may results in a $75 service charge, as I may need to properly prepare your hair for the service. If there is no time to do so, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
I appreciate you taking the time to review how to prepare for your appointment. It really makes a difference. Thank you for having me as your curl specialist, and I hope to see you soon!
